Steel Band Care Procedures
Perhaps caused by different technical levels, for a watch, watch band usually gets less attention than its movement, while, in fact, watch band is the most important part for watch wearing. Generally speaking, watch bands can be divided into two kinds: steel band and leather band, in which steel band always is the first choice for most of watch collectors and purchasers because of its long-wearing and special metallic luster. However, if not maintained properly, the bracelet, which known for its easy maintenance, would be the killer for your looks, too.
1.Ouch! What should we do if steel band gets stratches?
Can reflect appealing color and shining luster in the sun, neat smooth steel band is many watch funs’ favorite, at the same time, because of this great speciality, the whole watch will become obscured when steel band get scratch, even very tiny. Then what should we do if steel band gets scratches? Well, you can buy a piece of K gold polishing cloth(also called magic cloth) from timepiece shop, then clean the scratches by yourself. If scratches are too deep to recover, may be you should wait for the regular maintenance, let masters handle them. But if scratches on steel band are worse enough, send it to master wokers immediately.
2.Ooops, how does steel band become like this?
After long time wearing, watch’s steel band may get a lot of dirt, which is the mixture of sweat stains and filth, smells bad, on the connected part of chain and band surface. In this condition, squeeze some toothpaste or detergent on a soft-bristled toothbrush then brush the steel band, after that, rinse it well with water, at last, wiping with a flannel, dry the steel band with hair dryer. In addition, K gold watch will discolor because of oxidation after wearing long time, besides giving it to masters to maintain, you can also wipe it with dentifrice by yourself, the result will satisfy you. As to jewelry watches, apart from paying attention to whether the diamonds are loose, you also can use toothbrush moisten detergent to clean dirt on diamonds, besides, soak the watch(water resistant watch only) in jewelry liquid medicine is also a good way.

1.During the process of the cleaning, no matter how careful, it’s possible for water permeating. Let water permeate into watch because of surface cleaning, it’s more a less than a gain, so you’d better send your watch to masters.
2.Without timely dealing, metal band easily becomes rusty after wetted(by water, sweat,etc.). Rust and dirt can easily leak out from band seams, stain clothes, or worse, cause skin allergies. So do remember dry those band seams with cloth after remove or rinse your watch. Besides, for diver’s watch, rinse it well with water after landing is OK, the usage of chemical agents might hurt the watch.
3.Due to the material of K gold band is relatively soft, after being knocked or improperly touched, scratches will left on the band, moreover, the traffic exhaust-gas, chlorine in the swimming pool and sweat in our daily life can discolor K gold. So keep the band dry, handle or remove with care is necessary, even those metal known for their high hardness, such as titanium and high-tech ceramics, you should avoid knocking or droping, after all, hard doesn’t mean invincible.
